• Screwdriver / drill
• Sandpaper, fine and medium
• De-glosser / liquid sandpaper
• Caulk, wood putty, wood filler
• Oil base primer
• Oil base paint
• Paint roller ¼ ” –
3/8 ”
• Oil paint brushes
• Paint thinner
• Tape
Quick Guide How to Refinish Cabinets for Paint
1. Remove all doors and hardware
2. Determine whether to replace your current
hardware or keep existing
3. Sand all surfaces to be restored very well
with appropriate sandpaper, dust and sweep the
area
4. Wash all cabinets with appropriate cleaner
and or deglosser
5. Select paint color
6. Prime all cabinets with an odorless oil base
stain blocking primer
7. Putty, wood fill, sand, caulk where needed
8. Use Sherwin Williams Pro Classics satin or
semi gloss oil base paint
9. Apply 2-3 finish coats sanding in between
each coat of paint
10. Replace all doors and hardware
